swim
This depends on each child. It can take up to a year for a small child to be able to jump in the big pool and turn by themselves onto their back, swim to the wall and climb out. For some older kids who are scared to put their head in the water, this can take longer. We advise beginners to swim year-round.
We advise that your child attains their Level 6 Swiss Aquatics for you to know with confidence that your child is safe in the water. For more information on the Swiss Aquatics system of levels, visit our Our Programme page.
We take children from 2.5 years and older.
We have four group options. Autumn and spring groups swim from August to December and from April to June, for a total of 22 lessons at CHF 350. Winter groups swim from January to April, for a total of 14 lessons at CHF 255. Year-round groups swim from August to June the following year, for a total of 36 lessons at CHF 580. There is also an option to join a group in spring only (6 or 7 lessons, CHF 105 or CHF 120), subject to availability.
All options require an annual membership fee of CHF 35 per child.
We will send you an invoice by email. Please check your spam folder if you haven't received it. Invoices can be paid by bank transfer, TWINT or in cash.
If you would like to redeem your commune vouchers, we organise two opportunities for you to pay us in person at the start of the swimming programme in mid-August. You can pay using your commune vouchers and pay the balance in cash, bank transfer or TWINT.

No. You are welcome to be in the pool to observe your child's lesson as long as your presence doesn't distract your child. In this case, you must wear a swimsuit. Alternatively, you can watch the lesson from the reception, behind the window. In many cases, we find that children do better when their parents are not in the pool area.
All lessons are given in French, unless the whole group is English-speaking. All of our instructors speak French and English. We also have instructors who speak Dutch, some German and Afrikaans.
We cannot refund missed lessons, but we can arrange a replacement on another day and time within the same period.
No, but we can give you a credit for the following year. For this, we require a doctor's certificate specifying the period that your child is unable to do sport.
We aim to provide at least one option each day for your child, whether they are a beginner or a more advanced swimmer. To check your child's swimming level, please visit our Our Programme page.
On Monday and Tuesday we run three groups simultaneously. On Wednesday we run two groups simultaneously. On Thursday and Friday we have one group running.
Yvette will always try her best to have your children swimming at the same time or at times that are close together. This also depends on the age and level difference between your children.
No, taking any photos or videos is forbidden during lessons. This is for the privacy of all children and families. We make one exception during each swimming period where the teacher can take a photo or video of your child during the swimming level test. Level tests are held in December and in April each year.
The commune and the sports centre require the full name, address and date of birth of each child in order to register them for swimming. Your child's AVS number is required by Jeunesse+Sport, the governing body with whom we are registered. For further details on Jeunesse+Sport, please visit jugendundsport.ch.
No, the membership needs to be cancelled by you, or you can send Yvette an email to cancel it for you. If not cancelled, your membership will automatically renew.
