ABOUT OUR TRIATHLON CLUB

The ultimate multi-sport challenge for kids

The triathlon arm of our club has been in existence since the club's formation in 2015. It remains a small yet dynamic division dedicated to developing the unique trio of disciplines of swimming, biking, and running that make up this challenging multi-sport.

Triathlon training is an excellent way to strengthen the whole body, combining three complementary endurance sports that strengthen the heart, muscles, and mind while spreading stress across the body instead of overloading any single area. All of that and, it's loads of fun!

THREE DISCIPLINES

Building complete athletes

Each training session develops one or more of the three core triathlon disciplines, with a focus on technique, fitness and enjoyment.

Swim

Pool-based swim training on Tuesday evenings. Technique improvement across all strokes, endurance building and speed work to prepare for open water racing.

Bike

Outdoor cycling sessions during autumn and spring on Thursday evenings. Building bike handling skills, endurance, and confidence on the roads and trails of Val de Bagnes.

Run

Running sessions as part of multi-sport training on Thursdays. Developing running technique, pace control and the mental toughness that triathlon demands.

TRANING SCHEDULE

Year-round training, two seasons

The training programme is divided into two parts, and members are expected to commit to both and train year-round. During the autumn and spring, training includes both pool sessions and outdoor multi-sport sessions. During winter, training focuses on swimming.

 

All age groups train together, which builds team spirit and allows younger athletes to learn from older ones.

RACING

Compete as a team

Our triathletes commit to taking part in a minimum of three triathlon events during the year for the 6 to 13 age groups, and two events per year for the 14 to 16 age group.

Events take place across the region throughout the season. It's a fantastic way for young athletes to set goals, measure their progress and experience the excitement of racing as part of a team.

Travel to events is the responsibility of parents, though we coordinate as a group whenever possible.

Year-round commitment

Members are expected to train year-round and commit to both the autumn/spring and winter training programmes.

Payment

CHF 500 per year plus CHF 35 annual membership. Payable by bank transfer, TWINT or cash.

Equipment

Athletes need their own swimwear, running shoes and a bicycle. The club provides pool training equipment.
